The next meeting of Caloundra Camera Group will be held on August 28 and will be a share night.
We are having a DVD night. - but not just any DVD.
We have obtained a copy of the difficult to procure “Finding Vivian Maier”.
You may not get another chance - so mark this in your diary and be there.
From the DVD cover:--
“Who is Vivian Maier? Now considered one of the 20 th century’s greatest street photographers, Vivian Maier was a mysterious nanny who secretly took over 100,000 photographs that went unseen during her lifetime. Since buying her work by chance at auction, amateur historian John Maloof has crusaded to put this prolific photographer in the history books. Maier’s strange and riveting life and art are revealed through never-before-seen photographs, films, and interviews with dozens who thought they knew her.”
Our meeting will start at 7.15 pm and judging will commence at 7.30 pm.

Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary
Have you signed up yet for our outing on August 31 at 7.30 am?
Located at Sports Road, Bli Bli, we can explore wet and dry eucalypt forests, rainforest, melaleuca forest, casuarina woodland, salt marsh and mangroves. We can watch over 200 different types of birds, as well as crabs, butterflies and other animals that make the wetlands their home.
Within this wetland, life thrives in land on the edge of the sea, flooded by freshwater and salty tides. One of south east Queensland's largest groups of Mangrove Ferns grow in these wetlands.
Please put your name in the Events book at the front desk if you are wishing to join us for this outing.

Bunya Mountains
Please mark these dates in your diaries, October 30 - November 3. We plan to have a 5 night adventure to explore the Bunya Mountains region. Gerry is arranging accommodation in several houses where we can all be together. There is a camp ground but is only suitable to those with camper trailers or tents. This trip has been arranged to allow time for those who work to perhaps arrive on the Friday and leave on the Sunday. Gerry will be letting you all know more about it at our meetings.

The Sunshine Coast Wildflower Festival runs from August 17 to September 1. There are so many brilliant places to visit on the coast to see (and photograph) these beautiful flowers. The Kathleen McArthur Conservation Park at Currimundi is a particularly beautiful place to visit and its a great walk through too. Have a look at the website here. You don't have to do their guided walks you can do them any time. Great exercise for you too.
