Our last comp night
What a great night, so many different images and so many remembered poems. Thanks go to our judge John Lomas who, with great humour, managed to work this way through the many images on display.
Incidentally, John will be holding a portraiture master class on July 14th. If you are interested in attending you can find all the info and registration form here.
So our top print and digital images are...

“Photography for me is not looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at,
then you’re never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures.”

Club outing to Brisbane
Our events coordinator, Gerry has organised another outing for us - this time to Brisbane on July 6th.
Lots of architecture ad street photography during the day and then at night there will be the city lights, car trails and a myriad of things for us to capture. Don't forget to put your name in the outings book next time you come along to a meeting. The nitty gritty of this outing can be found here.

Can you help? We are looking for a member to fill the role of Publicity / Promotions Officer. We really would love to get the name of CCG out there to let people know we exist. The role would be what you make of it, but ideally you would arrange to put notices in local newspapers Notices Pages advising of upcoming meetings, get flyers out and onto community notice boards etc. It would be all up to you as to how you promote us. If your efforts can gain us 1 or 2 new members for the year how terrific would that be.

Photo Op - Relay for Life
Join thousands of Australians in the fight against cancer at the Sunshine Coast Cancer Council's Relay for Life. This annual event is a fun and emotionally-charged, overnight experience that raises much-needed funds for the Cancer Council's research, prevention, information and support services. Relay for Life gives the Sunshine Coast community an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate local cancer survivors; patients and their carers; and to pay tribute to cherished family members and friends, who have lost their fight to cancer, whilst raising crucial money to help save lives in the future.

Facebook
We are really wanting you all to be active members on our Facebook page. Several of our members have already posted images of their travels for us to admire, thank you for doing so, but don't stop now...keep them coming.
If you have seen a great web page offering special camera deals, courses or general tips - let us all know. And PLEASE be kind - cause if you aren't our administrators will get cranky. There is absolutely no obligation upon you to join though.
