The next meeting of Caloundra Camera Group will be held on November 13 and will be a competition night. The subject for the night is Photo Journalism and our judge will be Paul Tilley. Our definition for photo journalism is... a story-telling photograph such as are seen in the news media and periodicals, which may include documentary, contemporary life, illustrative, spot news, or human interest. In the interest of credibility, contrived situations or photographic manipulations which alter the truth are not acceptable. The story telling value of the photograph shall be weighed more than the pictorial quality.
Don't forget....prints must be received by the print coordinators before 7.00 pm. Our meeting will start at 7.15 pm and the judging will then commence at 7.30 pm. |
Our last share night
A big, big thank you to Greg Larchin who wowed us all with images and anecdotes from his trip around Australia in 2018 with his lovely wife Marga. It was almost standing room only for the presentation and I'm sure some members went home to plan a similar trip in the next couple of years. A great night.

The results are in and you have all received a copy by email. We came 3rd over all which was a tremendous result, so thank you to every one whose images were selected to compete and hearty congratulations to David Bryan whose image Nyala Trio won the Nature Award against some very, very stiff opposition.

Special mention must go to Gympie Camera Club who welcomed us like old friends and made us feel so comfortable with a beautiful morning tea then lunch and afternoon tea. Apart from that they arranged a Red Rattler chase and tickets on the train for those who wished to do it. Darran Leal was the guest speaker who provided us with lots of photographic tips. Then there were the raffles, and then .....
About 7 of us made the trip up to Gympie and we would really love to see more members take the drive up next year - you will not be disappointed.
