Our last share night
It was a packed house for the presentation by Julie Geldard of her travel adventures, tours and images. Julie provided us with so much info of our requirements for travel from the lenses needed and tips on how to prepare for a trip. We all went away with some ideas which we are sure to use in the future. Her images of ICM were also fantastic and inspiring for us all. Thanks Julie.

It would really be appreciated if you can remember to wear your name tag. For new members and our visitors it is really a nice way for them to know to whom they are speaking. Thanks everyone.

Facebook
As mentioned at our last meeting we are really wanting you all to be active members on our Facebook page. We would really like members to post images of recent travels to the page, ie, Iceland, PNG or even Wolf Creek, so we can all see some of the wonders you saw and make comment. If you have seen a great web page offering special camera deals, courses or general tips - let us all know. And PLEASE be kind - cause if you aren't our administrators will get cranky. There is absolutely no obligation upon you to join though.

The Presidents Trophy
Our President has announced that this year the subject will be "An Unconventional Portrait"
How you make the portrait unconventional is up to you!
Without inhibiting your creativity, consider the following. Engaging the viewer, telling a story and posing questions are important aspects of a good image. Emotions such as surprise, amusement, intrigue, passion, despair etc could well come into play. The unconventional aspects or techniques used should enhance the image and be used for a purpose. And one can use the title to hint to the viewer the meaning of the image.
What a great challenge!

Photo Opportunity
5th Annual Time Warp Festival
Put on your Blue Suede Shoes and rock on over to Palmwoods on May 5th. This is a fantastic day out and there are just so many photo op's from shiny motor bikes, vintage cars, hot rods, live music and people dressed up in 50's gear. And of course, there is always Rick's Garage for lunch. So if you plan to do the Time Warp might I suggest you get there early - parking is very, very limited.

Position Vacant
We are looking for a member to fill the role of Publicity / Promotions Officer. We really would love to get the name of CCG out there to let people know we exist. The role would be what you make of it, but ideally you would arrange to put notices in local newspapers Notices Pages advising of upcoming meetings, get flyers out and onto community notice boards etc. It would be all up to you as to how you promote us. If your efforts can gain us 1 or 2 new members for the year how terrific would that be.
