The next meeting of Caloundra Camera Group will be held on October 23 and will be a share night.
We are in for a treat. Our very own Greg Larchin will be taking us on a trip almost around Australia. Accompanied by Marga, they hitched up the caravan and along the way took some amazing images which you will enjoy as well as hear some of the tales he has to tell. If you have ever contemplated doing the big lap and wondered what you might see then now is your opportunity. Be prepared to be blown away, this will whet your appetite to go see Australia. Our meeting will start at 7.15 pm and the meeting will then commence at 7.30 pm. |
The Dark & Foreboding comp
What a night and what fantastic images were put up for judging. No wonder our judge for the night, Warren Veivers, had a hard time deciding which images would take out the top gong.

Titled Dark Dark Lagoon this beautifully worked image by Annette Scott was judged the top image in the A Grade Set Subject DPI section.
Well done Annette.
Once again Gerry Gibson has delighted us with another of his finely crafted images.
Watching the Break Down took out the top gong in the All Grades Art Photography Print section.
Well done Gerry.

PSQ News
There has been so much happening at PSQ that I can't keep up with their emails!!! So the final situation is as follows.
Sue Gordon did resign but has now taken hold of the reins again and is firmly placed back in the chair as President, the dust has settled and it is now business as usual.
Next there has been a lot of tooing and froing regarding the PSQ annual BBQ. Well it is back on again, on Saturday November 16, and your invitation is attached here with all the details. Tina Dial, a high speed sport and action photographer will be having a session on fast camera work, she is even taking along a couple of high speed racing dogs to practice on. Next Elicia Sword, a macro photographer, will be sharing some of her secrets and John Doody will be having a session on long exposures. So if you plan on attending, please send an RSVP if you are, and don't forget to take your camera and tripod along with you.

Outings
The outing last Saturday to Park Lakes was attended by 7 of our members. Some great images were captured, some of which can be viewed on Facebook. Fortunately we all made it back to the safety of the cafe before the heavens dumped down on us. Thanks Gerry for organising a fun morning.
For those who could not get along to Park Lakes for some bird photography we have some great news for you. Ty Fox will be allowing us to wander his backyard to practice our bird photography on the many birds that flock to his yard each afternoon, particularly now as there are blossoms on the trees.
So mark November 9 in your diary from about 3.30 - 4.00 pm, also if you can bring along some nibbles, and perhaps a bottle of wine we can have a bit of a social time too. More info at our next meeting.
Due to circumstances beyond his control, Gerry has been forced to cancel the 5 night adventure to Bunya Mountains, which is very disappointing for us all as Gerry had all sorts of wonderful things planned for us.
But he has promised that early in the new year he will be organising something even bigger and better, Stay tuned.
